I'm not entirely sure if you have the answer to this question considering that you've said before that you guys don't have much of an influence as to how CN decides to air episodes, but after the Mirror and Ocean gem episodes, how are they going to air the next episodes (or season 1B i guess) after that? Is there going to be another hiatus? The way the season is kinda split up has me curious about when and how they're going to go about airing them. I'm super excited about the next half tho!

mc-burnett answered:

We’ll most likely be alternating several weeks of new episodes with several weeks of hiatus.  All the CN shows are alternating like this.  RS, AT and Clarence had a run of new episodes earlier this summer, and now they are on a break while SU, UG, Gumball and Teen Titans are premiering new episodes.  The goal is to always have something new on Thursdays, and it’s working so far - everyone’s ratings are great!

NOTE: The holidays period (late November, December, early January) usually puts everyone on hiatus.  TV networks avoid airing normal new episodes of stuff during that time, as people are busy with family, travel, holidays or watching Home Alone on repeat, as we do in my house.

It's one year from now, and Rebecca and co. have all fallen in tragic, soap opera-esq comas and/or developed amnesia. You are the only one left capable of carrying on with Steven Universe. You have complete control and final cut. Name the episodes you produce.

mc-burnett answered:

Okay, from first episode to last.

  1. "Rocks Fall, Everyone Dies" - Steven, Garnet, Amethyst and Pearl go on a mission to a cave and the ceiling collapses on them, putting them all in tragic, soap opera-esque comas.
  2. "Keep Beach City Weird" - Show is officially renamed Keep Beach City Weird, Ronaldo Fryman is now the lead, explores his world looking for proof of the paranormal.
  3. "Bigfoot Fetish" - Ronaldo brings a camera into the woods, and is ambushed by an amorous Sasquatch.  He somehow manages to catch the makeout session on camera, but would showing the world photographic proof of Bigfoot also violate his "a gentleman never kisses and tells" code?
  4. "The Reckoning" - Ronaldo has had enough of his biggest online detractor disrupting the comment sections of his videos and tracks down the infamous SuckDragon37x for a showdown.  Spoilers: SuckDragon37x is his grandma!
  5. "I Dunno, Wassadarkmatta’ Wit’ You?" - Ronaldo attempts to make contact with a dimension beyond his own using a spell he found from a screengrab Bette Midler’s spellbook from the movie Hocus Pocus.
  6. "DelmarvaCon 2014" - If time travelers from the future were walking among us, there is one place they’d go to remind themselves of home: the rave at an anime convention.  Ronaldo goes in search of proof, but only finds Pocky.
  7. "Bring Back Swat Kats" - Convinced a conspiracy to ruin his childhood is afoot, Ronaldo storms Cartoon Network Headquarters with a sword he won at the Renaissance Faire.  [NOTE: FINAL EPISODE, SHOW IS IMMEDIATELY CANCELLED]

Hey, just a quick question for ya; Did you happen to notice the color of a gem's bubble seems to also tie to their default gem palette/color? Notice how Garnet's bubbles are always slightly red? In the temple you also see more purple bubbles (Amethyst), and the very-much blue bubble that Pearl just sent there in the most recent episode. Towards the end Steven's are also the only pink gems noticeable on screen.

artemispanthar answered:

I have! Its probably most noticeable in “Together Breakfast” and “Monster Buddies”, since you see a lot of the bubbles side-by-side in the lava room

It is curious there aren’t many pink bubbles, although its kind of hard to tell because Garnet’s red bubbles are look very similar to Steven’s pink ones (the distant bubbles are clearly red but the closer ones look a lot more pink). If the iTunes copy of “Monster Buddies” was out I could do a more extensive comparison since I’ve found the color is a bit different on the iTunes versus the airing so its difficult to compare the colors properly.

Though I suppose it makes sense you wouldn’t see a lot of pink ones since Rose has been gone for about 10 years and the Gems seem to actively bubble gems on a regular basis, so hers would be older and probably ‘in the back’ so to speak. Also possible she may not have bubbled gems herself much, similar to Amethyst. Most of the bubbles seem to be red and blue.

There are also some bubbles that look a little green (in other scenes) but its probably just Pearl’s blue bubbles in different lighting (may also be Opal’s since her bubbles looked light blue and green)

A couple years ago I went to one of those Universal Studios Hollywood Horror Nights (whatever year they had the Silent Hill maze is when I went) and we went on the “Terror Tram” which isn’t so much a tram as much as it is hiking up a steep hill in the dark while zombies jump out at you

Anyway, at…
